VAN GOGH, MONET, DEGAS – Padova, Palazzo Zabarella

The Mellon Collection of French Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Palazzo Zabarella hosts, exclusively for Italy, over 70 masterpieces by Edgar Degas, Eugène Delacroix, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh and others, which celebrate Paul and Rachel ‘Bunny’ Lambert Mellon, two of the most important and refined American patrons of the twentieth century.

The exhibition, curated by Colleen Yarger, department head and curator of the Mellon Collection catalog, presents a valuable selection of works from the Mellon Collection of French Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, which covers a chronological period from the mid-nineteenth century, reaching until the early decades of the twentieth century, between Romanticism and Cubism, passing through the extraordinary season of Impressionism.
